at IATI Theater

Cimientos Play Development Program at IATI Theater offers a unique opportunity for global playwrights. Each year, only ten plays are chosen from hundreds of submissions to participate in the program. Our goal is to push the boundaries of traditional playwriting and explore new and innovative forms of theater that we call vanguardia. We provide selected playwrights with valuable resources such as mentorship, workshop panels, and a platform to present their work to audiences.

At the end of the program, each playwright is matched with a director and a cast to present their play in our Cimientos 2024 Staged Readings Series. Join us between June 2-9, 2024 as we spotlight our exciting curation of national and cross-continental contemporary writers.
