About the instructor: Walter Perez

I began dancing in my hometown, Buenos Aires, when I was twenty-one. When I first started it was therapy – a way of coping with loss – but the Tango life soon seduced me and I dedicated more and more of my life and my time to dancing. What started as therapy became my profession.

In 2000 I moved to New York to dance, teach and perform. New York is a dancer’s paradise where all the arts flourish. My own dancing has matured here but I am in a continued quest to develop as an artist. I am grateful to so many people here in New York and at home in Argentina who have contributed to my growth as a dancer and to my journey as a person.
