A mysterious freak phenomenon connects four unhappy souls, causing them to hear one another's thoughts. A paranoid Mexican police chief, an out of work comedian with one foot, a woman who yearns to be a man, and a lovelorn girl brooding in her bathtub find themselves at the mercy of each other's neuroses. Can they be healed by the mysterious bond that they now find themselves inescapably in, or will they finally accept their grim fates?

About the Playwright:

Jaime Robert Carrillo

The Classical Theatre of Harlem selected Jaime's play SIMPLE as part of their Future Classics Program, and the play went on to premiere in the New Orleans Fringe Festival. NYTheatre.com wrote of his play Coat Check Casanova, which was produced at the Living Theatre, "Carrillo is most successful in his playwriting in [the] sections which really reveal what it means to be in one of America's invisible occupations—a service worker at the lowest rung of the hierarchy, taken for granted and too often taken advantage of." Jaime participated in the IATI Playwrights Lab with Oscar Colon, where he wrote Una Vida De Calidad. Una Vida de Calidad was selected as the 2010 Best Play Award Winner from the IATI Playwrights Lab.
