Two Sister prostitutes Anna and Jacqueline, trapped in a box on a ship leaving the Dominican Republic make their way to France to achieve their dreams of prosperity. Ana and Jacqueline's dangerous journey reveals secrets of their past, where their clients, father, lovers and mother's role become intertwined. Their violent escape prompts a challenging fight for identity and survival in the immigrant struggle to conquer the Old World.

About the Playwright:

Raquel Almazán: B.F.A. in Theatre from U of F and is a graduate of New World School Arts Conservatory -writer, director, actor and dramaturge. Play La Paloma Prisoner participated in workshops with La Mama ETC, INTAR and Labyrinth Theatre Company. Plays as writer/performer are Glossy Page Pimps (directed by Michael Garces) commissioned by Miami Light Project workshop reading. Death of the Doll, the film (Boyle Heights Latina Independent Film Extravaganza in L.A.) and Naked Angels Theatre Reading Series. Solo show She Wolves: Women in Sex, Death and Rebirth, NYC Fringe Festival, P.S.122. Junkyard Food starring Terrell McCraney, was produced Louis O’Gerrits Theatre; Margaret in the multi-media production of Ur-Faust that toured to Hyterio Theatre in Athens, Greece. TV acting credits Law & Order SVU, White Collar and PAN AM Pilot. Grants from The Ford Foundation, Manhattan Community Fund, and The Artist Access Grant. Member of SAG, AFTRA and the Dramatist Guild.
